Serious play for serious change

We founded Socialudo to use games to help diverse groups plan and think about how we future-proof society.

Founders Professor Vikki McCall and Professor Alasdair Rutherford lead and direct ‘Socialudo’, a new social enterprise set up to use serious play to help organisations with strategic and creative thinking, and embedding evidence into their practice. Alasdair and Vikki have more than 20 years of experience between them researching housing and ageing and aim to take forward important research-led recommendations that help bring people together to plan for the ageing population.

What is a serious game?

Socialudo aims to help support:

  • Bringing people together to think creatively about strategy and solutions

  • Board, management and staff development

  • Strategic and operational planning with a future focus

  • Co-production mechanisms within organsations – offers an interactive and constructive way to engage with local community stakeholders

  • Effective partnership working

We want to encourage and motivate people to think about how we future-proof our homes, housing and communities.
